Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a dish soap bar last?
This will depend on how fequently it is used, your household size, and how it is stored. If the soap bar is appropriately stored in a dry area (avoid setting in water), it will prolong its life. For my family of 5, 1 bar can last around 3-4
weeks. Why use a Solid Dish Bar soap over liquid detergent?
Our soap is hand made in small batch, all natural, 100% biodegradable from product to packaging, and does not contain any palm oil, parabens or chemicals. When was the last time you’ve checked out the ingredients of your dish detergent? We read the contents of our food with a microscope. We check the calories, the sugar, whether there is gluten or if it is Keto, but most people have never looked at the chemicals in our dish soap.
Other than water, we personally are unable to pronounce 98% of the ingredients. Yet, we happily lather dish soap allover our pots, plates, and pans and consume the chemicals.
We focus on micro plastics but no one focuses on the micro-chemicals we consume and release into our oceans.
Solid dish soap bars are 0 waste, plastic free, and contain all natural ingredients. Our solid dish soaps only contain 4 ingredients: Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide (oh and 1 more – lots and lots of love – as each bar is a labor of love).
How exactly does a solid dish bar soap made mainly of coconut oil remove grease and clean dishes?
It’s basic science 101! Like attracts like. The oils from your dishes (i.e. grease from foods, oils from cooking etc) will bond together with the coconut & castor oil of the solid dish soap – and upon rinsing the water will wash everything
away. How do you clean with a solid dish bar?
It’s actually easier than one would think. We suggest to remove all the leftover foods and sauces from the dishes and then rinsing them with water. Afterwards, wet the soap, wet the cleaning utensil – rub together to create rich fluffy suds. Repeat as needed to refresh the suds. Wash and rinse well.
How do you clean greasier than normal dishes?
We suggest to remove all the leftover foods, sauces and rinse the dishes with hot water and then clean as normal (as indicated in the previous reply). In some cases, stubborn stains will require a short soak – afterwards clean as normal.
Does solid dish soap foam?
Yes, it does! Just as body soap does when lathered with a loofa sponge, solid dish soap is no different.
Where should I store my solid dish bar soap?
Your solid dish bar soap should be stored in a clean, dry space to maximize its usage and ensure you get full effective use. We don’t believe that storage requires purchasing anything fancy. We suggest simply using a small dish plate add some natural rocks from the beach or garden.
What kind of scrub do I use with the solid dish bar soap?
Cleaning with a solid dish bar soap does not require any special or fancy utensils. Some clean with a sponge or scrubber, while others use a dish towel. Regardless of your cleaning kitchen utensil of choice, anything can be used.
Where are the solid dish bar soaps made?
All the soaps are made in a small private factory called “my kitchen” which ensures that they are all sustainably produced under a controlled environment.
